Sir Rod Stewart is a famous rock and roll legend. He has some great masterpieces to his credit. And now he has set a new record. He is the oldest male musician whose album has topped the music charts of Great Britain. He is aged 74 now.

On 22 November 2019, Sir Rod released his 10th chart-topping album called You’re In My Heart. Its position on the UK’s music chart steadily rose and this week it is on the top.

Thus the album got him the historic title. In so doing, Rod has beaten Robbie Williams and The Who.

But Rod still has a long way to reach and beat the age of the oldest female singer who topped the UK’s music chart as a solo artist. It was Dame Vera Lynn whose song collection named Vera Lynn: National Treasure topped the music chart of the UK in the year 2014 when her age was 97.

Rod’s wife Penny Lancaster, 48 was on the show Loose Women. She got Rod’s age wrong while on the show. She thought that he was 75 years old already though Rod has yet one year to go to be 75.

He is now 74 years of age. Penny had to Google search the age of her husband living on-air and realized that she had got it wrong. She admitted her mistake and added that she confused her father’s age with that of her husband.

Rod has dated multiple women. He has a total of eight kids with five women. Recently, he posed with his kids and four partners for a group photo. He wed Penny in 2007 and has two sons with her. Despite all this, Rod had once said:

“Instead of getting married again, I’m going to find a woman I don’t like and just give her a house.”
