The 71^st Emmy Award function

The 71^st annual Emmy Awards is around the corner. This Sunday, the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles, CA, will host the event.

Frank Scherma who is the Chairman and CEO of the Television Industry gave people a sneak peek into this live event-decoration and performances.

Many big names in Hollywood would be descending for this great annual feat. But the new thing would be that the red carpet will not be read this year. It would have a deep shade of purple.

Rita Garcia –raising the curtain

Rita Garcia of Good Day LA was at the event site and gave the viewers an insight into the behind-the-scenes happening at the event.

On this Friday in the morning, she was broadcasting from the purple carpet. The final touches for the great day were going on at the Theater in LA.

Rita was explaining the reason for the choice of the purple-colored carpet this year. She disclosed that the purple color was chosen due to its royal feel.

Rita asked are viewers:

“What do you think of when you think of that color?”

She then came forth with the answer. She said:

“It’s royalty! They’re honoring this year’s Hollywood and also television royalty.”

The Emmy Awards will air on Fox on 22 September 2019.

Kelly Osbourne had hosted the pre-party before the Emmys actual event.

The other unusual things about the 71^st Emmys this year

Kevin Hart had left the chance to be a host this year at the Oscars. But the Emmys people have decided that there would be no host for Emmys this year. Hence it will be a host-less show.

The producers decided this because more and more celebrities do not enjoy it and also there will now be more time for the actual part.

In the 3 hours of the show, 27 awards have to be awarded. 21 minutes are kept for things other than the announcement and acceptance of the awards.

Now the winners will not have time enough for their acceptance speech.

The nominees will have a separate area with a cam where “they can thank whoever they want to including their pet dogs and cats and agents”, executive producer Ian Stewart said. His company Done+Dusted is pairing with Don Mischer Productions to do the show.

A veteran producer of such types of shows, Mr. Mischer said:

“The two things that make these shows successful are: who wins, and what they say when they get up there. As producers, we have absolutely no control over that.”
