Monique Samuels and Chris finalized divorce after six months of split

Real Housewives of Potomac alum Monique Samuels and her ex-husband are now officially divorced. The news comes six months after the exes decided to go separate ways.

The TV stars finalized their divorce on Monday, confirms People.

Earlier this month, a judge reportedly signed off the judgment after the two appeared for a final hearing. Till now, the terms for their split are unknown as their divorce documents have been sealed.

Page Six was the first to confirm in June that Monique, 39, filed for divorce from the former NFL player, 46, after 11 long years of marriage.

At the time, a rep said that Monique filed a complaint for absolute divorce in April and then later filed an amended complaint on June 15.

The former couple’s marital troubles were evident between their tenure on Love & Marriage: DC and RHOP. The former reality star left the show in 2020 after getting into a physical fight with her co-star Dillard Bassett.

In October 2022, news of their separation made headlines which they strongly denied by sharing a YouTube video a day later.

The mom of three said,

“It’s no secret that Chris and I have been struggling in some areas of our marriage and anybody who watched ‘Love & Marriage: D.C.’ last year, y’all saw the arguments, y’all saw everything that was going on,”

Monique and Chris denied split rumors in the past

Although the former Bravolebrity felt that Chris wasn’t meeting all her requirements, the couple insisted that they were very much still together.

She declared,

“Are Chris and I getting a divorce? No! We aren’t getting a divorce,”
“Are we going our separate ways? Absolutely not, nobody said that. Have we filed a legal separation? No. Have we filed for divorce? No. Is there any document that proves any divorce filings? No. Have we separated to the extent of breaking up? No.”

In fact, they both said that they were doing their best to work on their personal issues in therapy.

She revealed,

“We decided we were going to spend a couple of nights apart while we were on our counseling journeys,”

“We’ve been communicating a lot better than what we have in a long time.”

Monique continued,

“We are most definitely still together, we haven’t given up on our marriage, we did not break up and we are not looking to divorce. We are simply trying to be better.”

While it is unclear why the couple changed their minds, Monique reposted a series of cryptic messages on her IG Story just a few days after finalizing the divorce.

One post was about giving rather than getting in relationships and the other was about people showing their “true colors and their initial intentions.”

The couple said I DO in 2012 and share daughter Milani, 8, and sons Christopher, 10, and Chase, 4.
