The actor welcomed his seventh child at this age and is very happy about it.
He revealed that the birth was not accidental and it was all planned.

If there is anything Robert De Niro loves doing, it’s definitely being a dad at this age.

The actor’s new baby shocked many fans but the actor was not stunned by his child’s birth at all. The 79-year-old actor attended the premiere of About My Father on Tuesday night and fans were curious to know what he felt about fatherhood in his late seventies.

Earlier that day, the Oscar winner confirmed that he welcomed his seventh child.

When an interviewer asked him about his six children, the actor corrected him by saying that it is actually seven.

However, he did not reveal the name or sex of the baby.

He said,

“I just had a baby,”

When asked if he was surprised by his seventh kid, De Niro replied with a flat no.

In fact, the actor revealed that everything was planned adding, “How you could not plan that kind of thing?”

He said,

“I mean, there’s no way around it with kids. I don’t like to have to lay down the law and stuff like that. But, [sometimes] you just have no choice,”
“And any parent, I think, would say the same thing. You always want to do the right thing by the children and give them the benefit of the doubt but sometimes you can’t.”

The actor who left his newborn at home looked handsome in a navy blue blazer, striped shirt, black pants, and matching shoes.

Robert’s six kids and their mothers

Also, the baby’s mother was not revealed but his much younger partner Tiffany Chen was pictured with a big baby bump last month.

The couple initially met while he was shooting on the set of The Intern. The following year, they confirmed their romance by going on a Spain trip together.

After a few years, the Taxi Driver actor and the martial arts instructor went to France to celebrate the former’s 78th birthday.

In addition to his new child, Robert also shares his adopted daughter Drena, 51, with his ex-wife Diane Abbot. They also share a son named Raphael, 46.

Additionally, he also fathers twin sons Aaron and Julian, 27, with his ex-girlfriend Toukie Smith and son Elliot, 25, and daughter Helen, 11, with his ex-wife Grace Hightower. The two divorced in 2018 after more than two decades of marriage.

People close to him reveal that he loves being a dad more than his acting accolades.

Shawn Levy, the author of De Niro: A Life said,

“My jaw dropped when I heard he had another child,”
“I mean he’s going to be 102 when the kid graduates from college. I think it’s crazy. At the same time, I have to say he is absolutely a great dad. In fact, one of the signature accomplishments of his life is keeping his kids and ex-partners close.”
