Roman Atwood and his relationship and married life

Roman Atwood, 40 hails from Millersport, Ohio where he was born on 28 May 1983. He is twice married and once divorced.

His first wife was Shanna Riley who was his high school sweetheart. The two started dating in 1999 and walked down the aisle together on 17 November 2001. The wedding ceremony was held in Licking County, Ohio. Everything was going well. They had a child, son Noah Vaughn Atwood who was born on 18 October, 2004.

But in 2008, Roman came to know that his wife Shanna cheated on him with a producer friend. He could not pardon her and filed for divorce. The court granted them divorce but there was a bitter fight over the son’s custody. After the divorce in 2010, both got joint custody of Noah. Noah would be with the mother on weekdays while Roman could have him on weekends.

Roman remarried and his second wife was Brittney Smith. She is the sister of the wife (Veronica) of his friend, Chase Gilroy. Roman had gone to attend Chase’s wedding and was the best man. Roman and Brittany liked each other and started dating soon after. He proposed to her on 30 April 2018 and she said yes. The wedding was on 27 July 2018 in Maui, Hawaii.

The couple had a son, Kane Alexander Atwood on 23 October 2011 and daughter, Cora Atwood on 16 July 2017. And one child, son Knox Atwood arrived on 6 January, 2021.

Shanna sues Roman

Roman started featuring his son Noah on his YouTube channel. Noah’s mother, Shanna did not like it and took him to court on this matter. She said that Roman was earning through his minor child and it was not right. She managed to obtain a restraining order against him.

But later, the court allowed Noah to join his father on his vlogs. And in October 2015, Ronan got full custody of his child. Mother Shanna could meet him only during Christmas time.

As time passed by, the couple patched up and are now co-parenting their son together. All seems well between them and they have again got joint custody of their child. Brittany is also a good stepmother to Noah. All of them appear on the vlogs together and as a family.

Roman and the tragic death of his mother

Roman lost his mother in a tragic accident in 2019. He was deeply disturbed by this great loss. His mother, Susan Anne Christman, was enjoying little scooter rides with her grandchildren when she fell and lost her life. Roman explained:

“As most of you know, my family and I are on vacation together. Yesterday, my mom was riding around with my nephew on some little scooters. She fell off hers and hit her head. She immediately lost all vitals,”
“No heart rate and her breathing stopped. She was rushed to the hospital where she spent the next 8 hours…my beautiful mother passed away shortly after.”

He took a break from social media and informed his fans:

“I need everyone to understand that I will be gone for a bit. I will be by my family’s side especially my fathers. We are rushing back home to Ohio to figure everything out. Please pray for my family and especially for my father.”

Roman rejoined back in August 2020.
