On May 1, 2021, the Houston Texans selected Lopez with the 195th overall choice in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Lopez formally signed with the Texans on May 12, 2021. He sacked quarterback Jacoby Brissett during a November 7, 2021, game against the Miami Dolphins, and he later recovered a fumble that was forced by teammate Kamu Grugier-Hill.

Lopez was waived or injured by the Texans on August 29, 2023. He joined the Arizona Cardinals practice squad on September 23, 2023, and three days later he was added to the active roster.
