In a few days from now, American football player, Saquon Barkley, 27 and his team would be playing at the Super Bowl. But prior to that, he made some great decision in his personal life, People magazine reports.

On the morning of this Sunday, 2nd February 2025, the news outlet reported that Saquon is engaged to his long-term girlfriend, Anna Congdon. Saquon gave an interview to the media outlet in which he said:

“I can’t be the athlete I am and have the success I have in my career without the help of her,”

“She’s been super helpful and always has my back, not only in football but throughout life there’s a lot that goes on. But as we continue to grow and mature and go through life together, we continue getting closer and continue to get even better.”

The relationship of the couple

Saquon met Anna at the Pennsylvania State University. Their relationship started in the year 2017. During those days, Saquon was playing college football for Penn State Nittany Lions.

It was during Saquon’s birthday in February 2017 that the couple went Instagram official with their relationship. Anna had uploaded a birthday wish post for Saquon at that time.

Subsequently, the two were seen together at several events. Anna used to attend Saquon’s matches and cheer him.

There was a time in between when the two deleted their together pics from their social media. This was when Saquon suffered an injury and his performance fell. People suspected that the two have split.

However, in 2022, Saquon talked about Anna and credited her for making him complete his undergraduate education.

The pair continued their romance and in April 2018, Anna gave birth to their first child together. She is their daughter, Jada Clare Barkley. Later, in September 2022, their second child, son Saquon Jr was born.

Saquon told the news outlet:

“We got a 6-year-old who’s about to be seven, who knows it all already, and then our son who’s all into toys and trucks and cars and he’s just a boy. He likes fighting, he likes playing football. So we cherish all those moments,”
“I’d be naive to think that I’ve made it and all the stuff that we are able to accomplish this year was all alone and by myself.”

Saquon is all praise for his lady love. They have yet not revealed their wedding date and venue.

Who is Anna Congdon?

Anna Congdon hails from the Forest City, Pennsylvania. She studied at the Forest City Regional High School. She is also a sportsperson and plays basketball. At school, she was captain of the basketball team. Her team won the first district level game in five years.

Later, she joined Pennsylvania State University and completed her graduation from there. It is here that Anna met Saquon at a fraternity formal and started dating him.
