Sarah Ferguson extended her support to Princess Catherine just days after the future Queen announced her cancer diagnosis.

The Duchess of York who was diagnosed with skin cancer earlier this year, wrote on her Instagram on Monday,

“All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she starts her treatment,”

“I know she will be surrounded by the love of her family and everyone is praying for the best outcome.”

Prince Andrew’s ex-wife continued,

“As someone who has faced their own battles with cancer in recent months, I am full of admiration for the way she has spoken publicly about her diagnosis and know it will do a tremendous amount of good to raise awareness.”

The mom of two concluded her message by requesting her followers to give the princess “time, space, and privacy to heal.”

Many of her followers praised Fergie for coming in support of Catherine. One wrote in the comments,

Ferguson confirmed in January that she was diagnosed with malignant melanoma after dermatologists removed and tested several of her moles. At the time, one of her moles proved to be cancerous.

Later she admitted that her second diagnosis was a complete shock to her. However, she assured her followers that she was in good spirits. The heartbreaking news came just six months after the duchess underwent a treatment for breast cancer.

What did Catherine say about her shocking cancer diagnosis?

Catherine, for her part, announced on Friday that her cancer began at the start of 2024.

In January 2024, she raised eyebrows when the palace confirmed that she had undergone abdominal surgery and wouldn’t be back in the public eye until after Easter.

A few weeks after that, social media and the press went wild with false rumors about her whereabouts, forcing Catherine to speak up about her diagnosis.

“In January, I underwent major abdominal surgery in London, and at the time, it was thought that my condition was noncancerous,”

“The surgery was successful.”

The princess added,

“However, tests after the operation found cancer had been present. My medical team therefore advised that I should undergo a course of preventative chemotherapy, and I am now in the early stages of that treatment.”

Catherine also said in the video that she and Prince William decided to keep the shocking news of her diagnosis for the sake of their three kids.

She continued,

“As you can imagine, this has taken time,”

“It has taken me time to recover from major surgery in order to start my treatment. But, most importantly, it has taken us time to explain everything to George, Charlotte and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”

As the princess is getting better, she asks her fans to respect her privacy as she is done with her chemo.
