His father was a music shop owner and his mother was a gardener and a health instructor.

In an interview with The Guardian, he shared that he was one of those Italian sons who did not have to lift a finger. His parents did everything for him.

In the year 2000, he joined BBC fronting the Good Morning Britain breakfast show. He later presented the weekday afternoon show and the Friday breakfast show on XFM London.

In the year 2007, he joined BBC Radio 6 Music and presented the late evening show. Similarly, he began presenting the BBC 6 Music Breakfast.

He substitutes for a range of presenters on BBC Radio 2. Likewise, in August 2018, he moved from his weekdays BBC 6 Music breakfast show to the Radcliffe and Maconie.
