Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh attended the Royal Ascot with a very special person: her dad!
On Thursday, the royal attended the third day of Britain’s most famous horse race in Ascot, Berkshire with her father, Christopher Rhys Jones.
The father-daughter duo looked ecstatic on the sunny day when the 92-year-old brought binoculars for a closer look at the action.
The Duchess, 58, wore a gorgeous white silk tea dress with a colorful pansy print by Suzannah London. As per Royal traditions, Sophie wore a blue hat by Jane Taylor. Christopher looked dapper in a morning suit and top hat.
Sophie and Chris, however, did not arrive in the Royal procession where King Charles and Camilla led the charge of horse-drawn carriages for the third day in a row.
Anne, Princess Royal traveled behind the King in the second carriage where Princess Margaret’s two children were also present.
On Wednesday, however, Sophie attended the Royal Ascot via a carriage with her husband, Prince Edward.
Thursday was a meaningful day for Sophie to bring her dad to the fun event as it was Gold Cup Day which is also known as Ladies’ Day. It is the oldest and most prestigious event which drew 60,000 spectators.

Sophie and the rest of the family honored Queen Elizabeth at the Ascot
Sophie and her dad have attended many royal horse races together in the past including the Cheltenham Festival Race Meeting.
On Thursday, the royals saw a royal horse race to victory when King Charles and Queen Camilla’s 3-year-old colt Desert Hero won first place.
The monarch, 74 accepted the trophy from Queen Elizabeth’s cousin, the Duke of Kent.
Zara Tindall, the King’s niece also attended all three days of the Ascot and told that the win was bittersweet.
She said,
“To think how proud our grandmother the Queen would have been, but to have a winner for Charles and Camilla and keep the dream alive was incredible,”
The late Queen who passed away in September last year at age 96 was passionate about horses and was a racing enthusiast.
Charles, her eldest son, inherited all her horses upon her death.
The late monarch attended Ascot almost every year of her royal reign and 24 of her racehorses won through the years.
