Tom Holland is not a fan of Hollywood

Tom Holland revealed that he is not really into Hollywood despite being a big star.

The Spider-Man: No Way Home star, 27, admitted that the entertainment industry is not the ideal place for him despite his unconditional love for filmmaking.

During a recent interview with Jay Shetty on his On Purpose podcast which was released on Sunday, the British said,

“Look, I really am a massive fan of making movies but I really do not like Hollywood, it is not for me,”
“The business really scares me. I understand that I’m a part of that business, and I enjoy my kind of interactions with it.”

The Uncharted actor continued,

“But that said, I am always looking for ways to kind of remove myself from it, to kind of just live as normal a life as possible.”
“Today, doing this [podcast] is a very rare thing for me to do,”

He noted that Jay’s platform felt like a safe place for him to allow himself to be vulnerable.

The actor confessed that some of his friends lost themselves in the entertainment industry and he is scared that the same thing might happen to him.

Holland who is currently dating Euphoria star Zendaya, said,

“I definitely think it has been an ongoing thought, which is don’t lose yourself,”
“I’ve seen so many people come before me and lose themselves, and I’ve had friends that I’ve grown up with that aren’t friends of mine anymore, because they’ve lost themselves to this business.”

Tom addressed his past drinking problems

Holland revealed the things he is focusing on currently. He said,

“I just am really, really keen to focus on what makes me happy, which is my family, it’s my friends. It’s my carpentry, my golf, the charity that my mom runs,”
“Like, that is the stuff that makes me really happy, and that’s the stuff that I should protect.”

Somewhere in the interview, he also discussed how he realized his addiction to alcohol when trying to stay away from the booze for a month.

After committing to Dry January and wanting to drink, Tom realized “all I could think about was having a drink.”

“I was waking up thinking about it. I was checking the clock … And it just really scared me,”
“Maybe I have a little bit of an alcohol thing. So I sort of decided to punish myself and say, I’ll do February as well. I’ll do two months off.”

He said he had a tough time after going dry for two months which made him believe that he may have a drinking problem.
