“They were genuinely scared.”

It has risen by more than 78% in the last two years. Compared to 260 in 2015, there were 465 violent “corrosive liquid” offenses in London in 2017.

The Criminologist Professor Simon Harding from the University of West London says that warm weather could be one reason for the rise in adrenaline and testosterone and such attacks.

He said:

“Tension in London is so high at the moment that if we get a spell of good weather it could well kick off into public disorder.”
