2. Hong Kong-License to kill

In Hong Kong, if the husband cheats on the wife, then the wife can kill her husband, and it is legal according to the law. The only condition is that she must not use objects to kill except her bare hands.

5. China month’s crying practice before the wedding

In China, the Tujia community’s to-be bride needs to practice crying for a month daily for an hour before the wedding. On top of that, her female relatives join her as well. A good cry signifies holding a good wedding or marriage tradition.

6. Cape Cod – Must kill to marry

According to the law in 1771, single men had to kill 6 blackbirds or crows to be eligible to get married.

7. Utah – Marry your 1st cousin

In USA Utah, it is legal to marry your first cousin if they become 55 years of age. If both the partners are single and not able to have a baby then they’re allowed to exchange vows.

8. Mississippi – won’t get married if you’re drunk!

Mostly, drinking at weddings is normal. But in Mississippi, you won’t get a marriage certificate or license if the priest finds out that you’re drunk. According to the law,

“The circuit court clerk may also reject your license if they believe you to be ‘insane’ or an ‘imbecile’.”

9. Montana – Marriage without bride & groom

It is quite strange to hear of a marriage ceremony taking place without the presence of the husband and wife. In Montana, however, the bride and groom do not need to be present for the wedding to take place. Authorized members of the partner may tie the knot in their absence.
