The Dance Moms star, 53, was indicted in 2015 on:

  1. 20 counts of bankruptcy fraud,
  2. concealment of bankruptcy assets,
  3. false bankruptcy declarations after the FBI, IRS, and postal inspectors conducted an investigation.

Miller, who pled guilty, allegedly hid more than $755,000 in other bank accounts. Abby accepts her mistakes and says,

“I made mistakes and I trusted people, but ultimately I have to take responsibility. I have to take the blame. I have to take the punishment.”

Miller, who recently announced her resignation in an Instagram post, could face up to two and a half years in prison if found guilty. A federal judge in Pittsburgh will decide her fate during a sentencing hearing on May 8.

She says,

“I went from being a dance teacher from Pittsburgh who never ran a family business, who never did the books, who never wrote the checks out. When [my dad] died, I had these temporary people in there, now we’re finding out that money was going right and left, and I didn’t know that.”

Miller admits she’s riddled with anxiety and says,

“I have to stay busy. If I thought about it every day, I’d just sit around and cry.”

The former reality star was also sentenced to two years of supervised release and fined $40,000 and ordered to pay a $120,000 judgment, local news reports.

The judge told the reality star in court,

“It’s a very serious situation when someone who files for bankruptcy isn’t truthful with the court.”

Miller filed for bankruptcy in 2010 although she had a contract for the reality show, the Pittsburgh-Post Gazette reported at the time. After a judge reportedly spotted her on TV, he canceled the hearing and ordered her to disclose any contracts.
