Actress Jane Fonda, 81 accepts the BAFTA award in Washington DC in handcuffs as she is led away by the police for climate change protests!
The gorgeous actress, Jane Fonda, 81 won the Stanley Kubrick Award for excellence in film at the annual Bafta Britannia Awards which was taking place in the city of Los Angeles, California, USA. Imagine accepting the award while been led away by the police in handcuffs! This is what happened when the authorities gave Jane Fonda the prestigious award.

The BAFTA Britannia awards were being held in the city of Los Angeles in California. Jane Fonda, 81 received the Stanley Kubrick Award for excellence in a film on this occasion. But she was in the other part of the state where she had joined the protests for climate change.
The police arrested her for these protests and she was in handcuffs and being led away. At this time, she was handed over the award.
Jane was not present at the Beverly Hilton to accept the award in person. Hence, she sent the organizers of the event a video message. This footage was shown to the audience on a big screen at the award function.

Last week, Jane Fonda was arrested in Washington DC for protesting about climate change and the political passivity in controlling it. This was filmed and the video clip was shown to the gathered audience at the award function on a big screen.
The Oscar-winning actress was in handcuffs and as the police lead her away, she shouts:
“Bafta, thank you.”
She looks at the camera and raises her hands to show the handcuffs. She added:
“I’m very honored,”

Jane Fonda is a social activist. She is known for it similar to her popularity in the film industry. As climate change protests get intensified, more and more celebrities and people are joining in. The aged population and senior citizens are now also becoming a part of it.
Earlier, Jane had revealed that she joined the protests and civil disobedience after the inspiration she got from the teenage climate change protester Greta Thunberg. She and 16 other climate change protesters were arrested that day in Washington DC. The police charged them with unlawful demonstrations.
But Jane had no grudge against the police. She, in fact, went on to call them ‘extremely nice and professional’ police. It is indeed a compliment for the police force of the USA and that to get it from a celebrity is a great achievement.
Jane preferred to demonstrate in Washington DC since she wanted to be more involved in this fight. She added that she wants to inspire other older and aging activists to join in this crucial fight of the century. She disclosed that she plans to get arrested every Friday during the protests.
The award which Jane received is given to ‘legendary individuals whose work is stamped with the indelible mark of authorship and ingenuity’. The previous recipients of this award include Cate Blanchett, George Clooney, and Meryl Streep.
