Actress Tamzin Outhwaite has fallen in love with a man who is very much younger than her.
He is the actor Tom Child.
There is a 21 years gap between the two.
But Tamzin has defended it.

Tamzin Outhwaite and her defense

The gorgeous actress, Tamzin Outhwaite, 51 is in a relationship with actor Tom Child, 31. The wide age gap between the two has shocked many people.

But Tamzin has laughed off the suggestion of calling her a cougar. She strongly feels that age is no barrier to genuine love. But both wanted a longtime commitment.

She said:

“A woman being very sure of what she wants or what she is in her life doesn’t make her a cougar, because there are two people involved in this relationship.
“Not all men want younger women, that’s another thing. When you find someone you connect with, what, because you’re different ages you shouldn’t do that?”

Tamzin and Tom Child – the relationship

In 2014, Tamzin divorced her ex-husband actor Tom Ellis. She shares two kids with him. And they are Florence, eleven, and Marnie Mae, seven.

And three years after the divorce, she met actor Tom Child. There was an immediate connection between the two. But Tamzin revealed that when they started dating, she did consider the fact that there was a very huge difference in age between them and that it would be disastrous while living in the limelight.

She also admitted that she was aware of the implications of it and wondered whether she and Tom could cope with the unnecessary media scrutiny that would follow once they begin dating.

She said:

‘We have thought about this, we have talked about this. At the beginning you think: “Can we do this?” But the minute we became official and thought we’re all right with it, then no one else’s opinions matter, apart from my children.’

Tamzin praises Tom Child

The couple Tamzin and Tom Child are self-isolating together during the current coronavirus pandemic. She praised him on her social media.

She wrote on her Instagram:

‘This man by my side has cleaned, done home schooling, fed the dog, done the shopping, been my sound engineer, my whole crew for @dun.breedin, acted in this passion project, made me laugh, cooked, and kept our spirits up… EVERY SINGLE DAY!
‘Perfect quarantine crew along with the kids. @tc_childie love you.’

Tamzin added that Tom has been exerting a positive influence on her life. He helps her children with their education. Simultaneously, he assists her with scenes for her new comedy series Dun Breedin’.

The actress also voiced that self-quarantine does test the relationships of couples. She stated:

‘You do wonder when people come out of lockdown how many people will go, “That’s not for me.” Or if others will propose and think, “If I can do that, I know I can be with you forever.'”‘
