Will Adele ever be an EGOT winner?
While being an EGOT winner is a special achievement for many artists, Adele believes she will never attain that feat.
The acronym stands for the artists who have won all four important Hollywood awards – an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony.
While the Hello hitmaker has 16 Grammy awards to her name, an Emmy for her Adele: One Night Only, and an Oscar for Best Original Song for Skyfall, she hasn’t earned a Tony yet.
On Monday’s final Carpool Karaoke segment, the British singer expressed her opinion on why she never sees herself as an EGOT winner.
The show’s host James Corden asked the singer,
“When we did the last Carpool, you were an Oscar winner, you were obviously a Grammy winner, you subsequently won an Emmy for your TV special,”
“Which means you are one Tony award away from EGOT. You now have the EGO.”
The Rolling in the Deep singer jokingly said that she has “always had the ego.” She then explained why Tony “is never gonna happen.”
She said,
“I would never write a musical or anything like that because I f–king hate musicals,”
“I f–king hate musicals. I don’t think I’ve ever said how much I f–king hate musicals.”
The mom of one noted that she has absolute respect for the art form and added,
“I just don’t need to hear everything in f–king song all the time. I also think the EGO suits me better.”

Corden recalled how his prank on Adele failed
During the fun chat, the friends also recalled the comedian’s failed prank on her.
The Someone Like You songstress proudly said “No one can ever prank me,”
She recalled when the TV host decided to prank her a few years ago.
Corden, who sat in the passenger seat this time around said,
“I set up this whole thing — and to say it out loud now, it’s so ridiculous — that there was a wild bear on the loose and we’d flown this animatronic bear from Canada,”
Corden revealed that he had planned an interview at the singer’s house where she would be interrupted by park rangers to warn her that there was a bear nearby.
To make it look more real, the Late Late Show host also got CBS News anchor Gayle King to be a part of the prank. He made her record fake news about the missing bear which would be playing in the musician’s makeup room.
The prank failed when someone noticed the hidden camera and informed the singer.
