The podcaster gave fans some insights about the big day in an interview with W Magazine.
Kaplan popped the question on March 3 after 3 years of dating.

Alex Cooper shows off her stunning engagement ring

Alex Cooper revealed that her fiance Matt Kaplan asked for her hand in marriage with a ring by LA-based designer Jenna Blake.

The 39-year-old producer followed the traditional way of proposing by getting down on one knee with a 5-carat antique single-prong setting with a rare gem.

Despite looking very expensive, the price of the ring is still unknown.

The Call Her Daddy podcaster, 28, recently spoke to W magazine and gave some insights into the romantic proposal that took at the couple’s shared mansion in Studio City, California.

Alex revealed that the CEO of Ace Entertainment teamed up with her publicist making her believe that she was doing just a photo shoot for another story.

She told the magazine,

“I remember the shoot feeling like it had no direction, and I could tell everyone was stalling,”

Alex also said that because of the plan, she was “out of the house, out of [her] sweatpants, and in hair, makeup, and nails.”

The social media influencer added,

“When I came home that night, my entire house was covered in candles, lit all over, music playing, and a scavenger hunt leading to Matt proposing.”

Matt also placed “photos or mementos” that the couple has collected throughout their relationship in every room of their house.

Kaplan finally got down on one knee with the ring, saying,

”You’re my soulmate, the love of my life. You make me a better man. Please do me the honor of marrying me,’”

It was an instant Yes from Alexadra and the producer slipped the ring on her finger.

Alex said Matt changed what she thought about marriage

When asked if she saw the proposal coming, Cooper said that she was never sure if she even wanted that.

She admitted,

”Matt and I had talked about having kids together, but I was always unsure if marriage was something that I wanted. Growing up, I never wanted to conform to something that society is telling us: to get married to a man and live happily ever after. ”

Alex continued,

”So many marriages in my life are so unhealthy and unstable. A lot of people settle, and I refuse to do that. But with Matt, it immediately was obvious to me, once our relationship progressed to the point that it was time, that yes, I would love to marry him.”

The Spotify star continued,

”We went to a date night at Giorgio Baldi in November, and I told him that he could propose whenever he wanted. He was beaming, because he had accepted that maybe we wouldn’t get married.”

The couple initially met via a Zoom business call in 2020. While they managed to keep their romance under wraps, Cooper referred to him as “Mr. Sexy Zoom Man” on her hit podcast.
