Who is Ali Daei?

Ali Daei is an Iranian former footballer, businessman, and coach. He is the present manager of the Persian Gulf Pro League club Saipa Tehran.

Additionally, he is also the former captain of the Iran national football team.

Ali Daei’s Early Life, Childhood, and Education

Ali Daei was born in Ardabil, Iran on March 21, 1969. He is the son of Abolfazl Daei.

Additionally, he became interested in the world of football at an early age and hence began playing for his hometown club, Esteghlal Ardabil, when he was 19.

He is of Iranian nationality. Furthermore, he belongs to the Iranian Azerbaijani ethnic background.

Talking about his education, Daei graduated from the Sharif University of Technology in Materials Engineering. In addition, he has a B.Sc. degree.

Ali Daei: Career, Salary, and Net Worth

Ali Daei initially played for Taxirani F.C. in Tehran. Next, he joined another Tehrani club, Bank Tejarat FC. Later, he joined the country’s premier squad, Persepolis after his impressive performance in Asian Cup in 1996.

Furthermore, he became the first Asian player to feature in a UEFA Champions League match. After a fair amount of time in Europe, he returned back to Asia and spent two years at Saba Battery. Coming to his international career, Daei joined Team Melli on 6 June 1993.

Furthermore, Daei was featured in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. He scored 20 goals in competitive matches for Iran in 1996.

In addition, he is also the first male player to score 100 goals in international play and has 149 caps for Iran. He was also appointed the Team Melli’s new head on 2 March 2008.

He has also worked for clubs including Persepolis, Rah Ahan, Saba Qom, and Naft Tehran. Additionally, he also owns Daei Sport which provides clothing for several Iranian football clubs.
