American rapper, FatMan Scoop dies on stage at 53!

American rapper, FatMan Scoop is no more. He collapsed and expired on stage during his concert in Connecticut.

The famous American rapper, FatMan Scoop is no more. He died a sudden and premature death on stage. FatMan was performing at a concert in Connecticut when death came to him.  He was only 53 years of age when he died.

On Friday, 30 August 2024, FatMan collapsed on stage.  He was in the midst of his gig at the Town Center Park in the city of Hamden. The city Mayor Lauren Garrett revealed via a post on his Facebook page that the rapper was immediately rushed to a local hospital in an ambulance. But he was declared dead on arrival.

The event booking agency, MN2S confirmed the death. They added that his music was timeless and will continue to be live Avenue after his death. They said:

Scoop was a beloved figure in the music world, whose work was loved by countless fans across the globe,”

“His iconic voice, infectious energy, and great personality made an indelible mark on the industry.”

Tributes pour in for FatMan

FatMan’s fans are saddened by the news of his unexpected death. His family too is grieving. They wrote on social media:

“FatMan was a radiant soul, a beacon of light on the stage and in life.”

“FatMan Scoop was not just a world class performer, he was a father, brother, uncle and a friend,”

Their tribute continued:

“He was the laughter in our lives, a constant source of support, unwavering strength and courage.”

DJ Pure Cold, FatMan’s tour manager had no words to describe his grief. He wrote on his Instagram:

You took me all over the world and had me performing alongside you on some of the biggest and greatest stages on this planet,” 

He added:

“The things you taught me have truly made me the man I am today.”

FatMan’s next concert was on 7 September 2024 at the Reminisce Festival in the UK. The festival organizers stated:

He was not just one of our most popular performers, he was a cherished member of the Reminisce family,”

Further, they said:

“His energy, talent and infectious spirit will be missed more than words can express.”

FatMan’s life and career

FatMan’s real name is Isaac Freeman III. He gained prominence in the 1990s and was famed in the hip hop music scene of New York City. He had featured in several famous songs that went on to win Grammy awards. These include Missy Elliott‘s song Lose Control and also Mariah Carey‘s song It’s like that.

FatMan’s song with Crooklyn Clan Be Faithful was released in 1999. But it gained success at an international level four years later in 2003 when it became a hit in the UK and Ireland.

FatMan has done TV shows and was part of the Channel 4’s TV series Chancers in which he was mentor of budding musicians from the UK who wanted to gain a foothold in the USA music industry. He contested in Celebrity Big Brother 16 that aired in 2015. He did not make it to the finale.

FatMan had two marriages. One of his wife was Shanda Freeman. The two divorced after 13 years. FatMan has a total of two kids.
