In 2002 Gossow was diagnosed with nodules, that almost stopped her from singing. Luckily she was able to recover her voice after some vocal therapy.

She stepped down from the band in 2014 for personal reasons ( pursue other interests, as she says). She currently manages Arch Enemy, the band she formerly sang for.
