Time heals all – Angelina Jolie gives credit to her Kids for helping Re-Discover Herself!
In this year’s final issue of Harper’s Bazaar, Angelina Jolie decided to talk about her inner peace and grace. For the last few years, Angelina has been going through a lot.
And she has been very open about her journey. She talks about healing and rebuilding her life.
Years of Hardship and suffering
During her time with this magazine, she shared about her personal life (family) to professional life (career). Jolie underwent a preventive double mastectomy in 2013.
In 2015, she removed her ovaries and fallopian tubes. This was done as a preventative measure against cancer. Her blood test revealed an estimated 87 percent risk of breast cancer. Also, had a 50 percent chance of ovarian cancer.
In September 2016, she filed for divorce from Brad Pitt. When it comes to living, Angelina has different interests regarding this topic. She says her goal is to live overseas once her children are grown.
“I would love to live abroad and will do so as soon as my children are 18. Right now I’m having to base where their father chooses to live.”
Children – an integral role
With Harper’s Bazaar, Angelina talked about how her young children played an integral role in helping her reclaim her peace of mind. She has 6 children namely, Pax, Zahara, Maddox, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
Sharing about finding a true self, Angelina said:
“The part of us that is free, wild, open, curious can get shut down by life. By pain or by harm. My children know my true self, and they have helped me to find it again and to embrace it. They have been through a lot. I learn from their strength. As parents, we encourage our kids to embrace all that they are, and all that they know in their hearts to be right, and they look back at us and want the same for us.”
Despite being busy with her work, she is focused on teaching her children to be fully themselves. She encourages them to explore the world and learn from others. Her children are allowed to choose whichever subject they feel confident about. There are no limits to ideas and expression around the world.
“I am conscious every day that I have… the ability to encourage my children to explore the world, including the world of ideas and expression, without there being limits to what they are allowed to study or know or imagine themselves doing in the future, I want the children to grow up in the world — not just learning about it but living it and having friends around the world.”
