Talking about her parents, her father, Jurek Czyczszon was born and raised in Rabka (Chabówka) where he lived until he went away to university in Kraków where he met Hasia (Anna’s mother) and introduced her to Goral culture including Goral folklore, singing, and dancing. She has a younger sister named Barbara.

Anna spent much of her childhood days in Rabka with her father’s family. She later immigrated to Canada with her family. Even today, every time Cyzon goes back to Poland, she prefers staying in touch with her father’s family in Rabka.

Musical Career

Anna Cyzon’s entertainment career began in 2004 after grabbing national attention for her performances on Canadian Idol. She entered the competition’s top 20.

Cyzon then followed her passion for music and wrote and shot her first music video titled, Reputation’ with director and fashion photographer Miz Monday.

In July 2009, Anna released her first single, ‘Young Boy’ independently in Canada. On Ottawa’s HOT 89.9 Battle of the Beats, the song beat out Black Eyed Peas and was played on college radio stations across Canada. It became a huge success. Its video shot on the old EMI publishing rooftop in Toronto and directed by Juno Award nominee Davin Black was played on MuchMore, MuchMusic, and MTV Canada.

The famous bassist and co-lead singer of a rock band, ‘Kiss’, Gene Simmons approached her during the editing of the music video of Young Boy who flew her out to Los Angeles to sign her as the first artist to his new label venture with Universal Music Canada, Belinda Stronach, Simmons Records. However, she declined the offer and returned to finish work on her debut album which she released independently on iTunes.

In 2013, she released a track called “Into The Sun” from her self-titled EP. In November 2014, she released her new single “Wannabe” and later, in 2015, she collaborated with Eminence on “Knock Me Out”.

Other works

After Canadian Idol, she landed a job as a correspondent for CTV’s eTalk, where she worked for a couple of years before joining MTV Canada in 2006. For MTV Canada, she hosted her own shows, MTV e2 and MTV Screen, and continued to work for eTalk.

Cyzon made her big-screen debut by appearing in Unrivaled starring UFC champion Rashad Evans. Moreover, she also appeared in Degrassi Takes Manhattan. Furthermore, in the Canadian film, Textuality,  starring Carly Pope, Jason Lewis, and Eric McCormack, she portrayed Erin.
