The Scheduled Christmas Tour

Grammy-winning musicians Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith are partnering for the 21-city Christmas tour during the holiday season. Jordan Smith, the winner of season 9 of NBC’s ‘The Voice’ show would also join them on this tour.

This tour is being presented by Balsam Hill. There would be a full symphony orchestra during each performance. This will be under the able guidance of music director and conductor David Hamilton.

There would be selected songs by these artists. These would include Amy Grant’s ‘Tennessee Christmas’, Michael W.Smith’s ‘The Spirit of Christmas’, and Jordan Smith’s ‘’Tis the Season.

The program would be held at the Alliant Energy Center, Dane County, Madison, Wisconsin on 9^th December 2017, and at BOK Center, Tulsa, Oklahoma on 1^st December 2017.

There would be shows in other cities as well. The tickets for these shows could be purchased online from 11^th August 2017 from the respective arena’s website.

The joint Christmas tour received an overwhelming response last year. Michael W. Smith said:

“I started looking forward to this year’s tour after the final encore of last year’s tour. Performing with Amy and Jordan — in front of a full symphony Orchestra — is about as good as it gets for me!”

Amy Grant is also excited about the whole collaborative affair. She said:

“Michael, Jordan and I have been looking forward to touring together again all year. We had so much fun together last year and it felt like our creative gifts complimented one another in a unique way.”

Before the concert

Before the event, both Amy Grant and Michael W. Smith would meet around 200 people in each city. These people are associated with Compassion International and each of them sponsor a child.

What are shingles?

Shingle is a disease caused by the reactivation of the chickenpox virus which remains dormant in the body after the chickenpox infection.

There is nerve inflammation involved due to which the person afflicted by shingles gets severe pain and tingling sensation in the area. This is followed by painful rashes and blisters. The lesions erupt in a linear fashion or along a small strip of skin on one side of the body.

The blisters remain for a few days before they dry up leaving behind a scar. The lesions may be along one side of the forehead or on the chest or upper abdomen.

There may be residual post-herpetic neuralgia in the area. These lesions are also known as herpes zoster infections. They are common with stress, extremes of age, and a weakened immune status.

Treatment is symptomatic with soothing calamine lotions and pain relief medications. Antiviral medicines such as acyclovir could be used to shorten the course of the disease. The disease can put off a person out of gear for 3-6 weeks.
