Bella Hadid talks about her Lyme disease recovery

Bella Hadid never shies away from talking about her battle with Lyme disease.

The model gave her supporters a health update amid her years-long fight with the illness. She also thanked everyone who has supported her through the tough time.

Sharing a lengthy Instagram post on Sunday with several photos of her getting treatment, Hadid wrote,

“the little me that suffered would be so proud of grown me for not giving up on myself ,”

The supermodel then thanked her mom, Yolanda Hadid “for keeping all of my medical records, sticking by me, never leaving my side, protecting, supporting, but most of all, believing me through all of this.”

Yolanda who herself is suffering from Lyme disease revealed her diagnosis while filming Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2012.

In the post, Bella Hadid revealed that since getting infected, her condition has only gotten worse with time and symptoms have shown in ways that she really can’t explain.

She wrote,

“To be that sad and sick with the most blessings/privilege/opportunity/love around me was quite possibly the most confusing thing ever,”

Hadid assured her fans that she is okay and ‘‘you do not have to worry.”

Despite all the painful treatments and tiring illness, Bella Hadid said that she would not change a thing and would go through all of this again because it made her the person she is today.

In fact, she said that almost 15 years of invisible suffering gave her a chance to spread love “from a full cup” and “truly” be herself “for the first time ever.”

She thanked,

“I tried to pick the most positive pictures I could because as painful as this experience was, the outcome was the most enlightening experience of my life filled with new friends, new visions and a new brain,”

Thanking everyone for their support, Hadid concluded,

“I’ll be back when I’m ready, I miss you all so much, I love you all so much,”

Bella celebrated her sobriety amid Lyme battle

The emotional post showed multiple photos of the model where Bella Hadid smiled frailly at the camera as IVs stuck out of her arms and legs.

Hadid also showed documents that proved that the disease is present in her blood.

Noticeably, in most of the snaps, the model has bandages covering injection spots.

In one photo, Bella Hadid even thanked her dog as he remained faithfully by her side. She captioned the images of her pup,

“And God Bless my Angel, Glizzy P. Beans aka Petunia aka Beans, For never leaving my side not for one second,”

Last month, the model revealed that she was taking some time off due to her increasing Lyme disease which forced her to get daily treatment for a few months now.

Shortly after that, she also broke up with her boyfriend of two years, Marc Kalman.

A source said at the time,

“They were very in love, but the relationship ultimately ran its course and they decided to end things,”
“Bella is a very nice person, but struggles with the pressures of fame. She has been trying to take care of herself since their split.”

Since then, Bella has also been sober since January.
