Bethenny Frankel’s relationship history
Just like many other celebrities, reality TV personality Bethenny Frankel’s life story is also full of juicy affairs. She was married to an entertainment industry executive, Peter Sussman in 1996 but within a year this wedding collapsed and they were divorced in 1997. She started dating pharmaceutical sales executive, Jason Hoppy soon after.
They married on camera in March 2010. Their daughter, Bryn was born in May 2010. But within 2 years, differences surfaced and the relationship turned acrimonious.
The couple separated in December 2012 and Bethenny Frankel filed for divorce in January 2013. The divorce was finalized in July 2016.
Nasty in-court and out-of-court fights characterized these in-between four years. Soon a romantic relationship ensued between Bethenny Frankel and her old friend and Big Apple banker, Dennis Shields.
Bethenny Frankel was also rumored to be dating American actor and comedian, Eric Stonestreet. This was later denied by both parties.
Update 2022: Bethenny is in a relationship with Paul Bernon. Her boyfriend Paul is an American businessman and film producer.

Bethenny Frankel’s ugly divorce 2nd husband, Jason Hoppy
Bethenny has been through a divorce before but her divorce with her second husband, Jason Hoppy was not smooth. In fact, this divorce was a prolonged and ugly one.
Bethenny Frankel said that she was subjected to a lot of cruelty, abuse, and hardships from Jason Hoppy and her family after she announced to him her decision to divorce him.
She quoted him as saying:
“If you don’t want to be with me and you’re ending this marriage, I want nothing to do with you ever again. I’m going to destroy you.”
Jacob Hoppy had told her:
“You’re already losing fans. I’m going to ruin you,”
The fight only got worse with time. Ultimately in June 2014, Bethenny Frankel won the custody battle for her daughter. After a lot of negotiations, the divorce was completed in July 2016.
After-effects of the divorce: the saga continues…
In spite of the completion of the divorce, Jason Hoppy has not forgotten Bethenny Frankel. He still has her photographs in his apartment and purchases each and every magazine which carries her photograph. Similarly, he is still bitter after this whole process and has not forgiven Bethenny Frankel.
He might also be jealous of her fame and wealth. After the divorce, he had sent 49 increasingly hostile emails to his ex-wife in 70 days. Every email was cc’d to Dennis Shields.
Jason Hoppy was given a verbal warning on several occasions but it fell on deaf ears. Jason Hoppy tried to poison the mind of Dennis Shields against Frankel and told him that Dennis is in a ‘revolving door of men’ and that ‘he’ll be gone soon’.
In November 2016, Dennis Shields slapped a legal notice on Jason asking him to stop this lest he would sue him for this harassment. This did not stop Jason Hoppy and in January 2017, he reached his daughter’s school and shouted at Bethenny Frankel.
He reiterated:
‘I’ll destroy you’.
On complaints lodged by Bethenny Frankel and Dennis Shields, Jason Hoppy was arrested on charges of stalking (fourth degree) and harassment (first degree). This real-life drama of this reel-life queen seems to be never-ending!
