Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell are new parents to Iguana

Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell introduced the newest member of their family. On Tuesday, May 23, the 24-year-old conservationist shared a video of the two in which Irwin can be seen carrying a cute Fijian-crested iguana.

The couple is in their khaki work uniforms as they were providing information regarding reptiles alongside showing off their unique marks. Powell also revealed the name of their pet, Kermit.

Chandler began the video,

“Hey guys, Bindi and Chandler here. And we are joined by an incredibly special lizard. This is Kermit, the Fijan crested iguana. They’re mostly arboreal. You can see that long tail built for balance. Their hands are designed for clinging onto tree branches. And they’re such cute lizards,”

The former wakeboarder, 26, then went on to acknowledge that iguana is one of his favorite animals on planet “Earth” and these have the “personalities of puppy dogs”. He continued,

“It never gets old hanging out with Fijan crested iguanas,”

Bindi, on the other hand, added,

“And you can see this little darling currently has a little bit of skin-shed going on which is wonderful because you can actually see that spectacular pattern underneath that bright green coloration. I feel like you just covered it,”

She then shows gratitude towards the viewers, stating,

“Thank you for getting to meet our Fijian-crested iguana. We think the world of you and your cute little face, you are so dorky with your skin shed.”

Bindi and her husband, who have been married since 2020, are proudly stepping into her late father Steve Irwin’s footsteps. The two are working together as Wildlife warriors and conservationists at Australia Zoo.
