Bombino is a Tuareg guitarist and singer-songwriter. Currently, he serves as a member of the Ifoghas tribe, which is the Kel Adagh Tuareg federation.

Bombino started by teaching himself how to play guitar by listening to musicians such as Intayaden, Abreyboun of Tinariwen, Keddo, Abdallah of Niger.

Later on, he became a part of the band Haja Bebe. However, his father never supported him to become a musician. So, he traveled to Algeria and Libya in 1996.

In 2006, he went to California with the band Tidawt where he performed the Rolling Stones classic “Hey Negrita.”

Due to the war-torn and politically unstable nation, he was always on the move from country to country fighting for his life. Luckily, in 2009, he met a filmmaker Ron Wyman who brought him to Cambridge, Massachusetts to record for the album Agadez in his home studio.

Moreover, he made his ultimate breakthrough by releasing Nonesuch Records debut with the album, Nomad. It astoundingly topped the chart of the Billboard World Music album chart and iTunes World chart.
