The shrinking Brad Pitt

Brad Pitt stepped out in New York City for the premiere of his Netflix comic drama movie War Machine. He plays an excessively confident army general who goes to Afghanistan to win the war and his encounter with a journalist who threatens to bring him down.

Pitt was there at the premiere with his whole film cast and posed for photographs for the media persons and also for the fans. He also introduced the movie before its screening commenced.

However, the last eight-nine months seem to have been heavy on him since his divorce from his wife of three years Angelina Jolie. Brad Pitt has lost a lot of weight and looked quite thin and lean in his suit.

His jacket was very oversize for him and its cuffs needed to be rolled up on his sleeves. His pants were also many sizes big for his now slender frame. The pants appeared baggy and were held by a leather black belt.

In spite of all his personal life hardships and his weight loss, Brad Pitt managed to flash a gorgeous smile on his thin face to the greeting fans as he entered the hall for his film promotion.

He did not let his life’s sorrows and problems dampen his spirits which were high during the promotional event. He also posed for photographs with the film’s Chief Content Officer Ted Sarandos.

His fans are really concerned about his diet as he seemed to be only having some popcorn during the event.

During his whirlwind press tour to promote his new film, Brad Pitt also opened up about his split with Angelia Jolie. Brad Pitt said:

“I’m not suicidal or something. There’s still much beauty in the world and a lot of love. And a lot of love to be given. It’s all right. It’s just life….. Kids are everything. Kids are your life”

He has made efforts to quit his drinking habit and has been able to work out the custody issues of their children with his ex-wife. He said that he totally agrees with one lawyer who said:

“No one wins in court — it’s just a matter of who gets hurt worse.”

Pitt said that he does not believe in vitriolic hatred and is happy that Angelina Jolie agrees with him on this point. Feeling sad for his kids, he said:

“It’s just very, very jarring for the kids, to suddenly have their family ripped apart.”

Brad Pitt had multiple relationships during his early days in the entertainment industry. On 29^th July 2000, he married his co-star Jennifer Aniston in an intimate private ceremony in Malibu.

However, by January 2005, they had decided to separate. Their divorce was finalized in October 2005. One month after their divorce was filed, Brad Pitt started dating his costar, Angelina Jolie. He had fallen for this lady on the sets of the movie Mr. and Mrs. Smith.

They were after that seen at multiple places together and by January 2006, Angelina Jolie announced that she is pregnant with Brad Pitt’s child. Angelina Jolie had already adopted Cambodia-born Maddox Chivan in March 2002 and Ethiopia-born Zahara Marley in July 2005.

Brad Pitt co-adopted these two children. In May 2006, their own daughter Shiloh Nouvel was born in Swakopmund, Namibia. The couple adopted a third child Vietnam-born Pax Thien in March 2007.

Angelina Jolie delivered twins; a daughter Vivienne Marcheline and a son Knox Léon in July 2008 in Nice, France. However, the couple started having problems in their relationship, and in September 2016, they filed for divorce citing irreconcilable differences as the reason.

In a BBC World News interview, Angelina Jolie had said:

“I don’t want to say very much about that, except to say it was a very difficult time and we are a family and we will always be a family, and we will get through this time and hopefully be a stronger family for it…”

The difference in the parenting styles was reportedly the main cause of the split. After her mastectomy in 2013 for health reasons, Angelina Jolie tended to be more serious and concentrated more on her children while Brad Pitt still continued to love adventures and traveling which both had liked before.

His concern for his wife had also increased. He also shared a special relationship with his French co-star Marion Cotillard.

She had gone to the extent of hiring a private detective to spy on her husband and give him feedback about his relations with his co-stars on the sets of his film in London.

All of these had culminated in the couple having an acrimonious relationship which then led to a divorce. However, for their kids’ sake, they have decided to keep their cool and take care of them as a family. Our best wishes to this family!
