Bristol Palin’s delivery

On 8th May 2017, the reality TV personality Bristol Palin announced that she has become a proud mother of a baby girl who has been named Atlee Bay.

This is her second child with her husband, Dakota Meyer. Their first child is a daughter called Sailor Grace Meyer who was born on 23rd December 2015.

Palin got married to US Marine Corps veteran, Dakota Meyer on 7th June 2016. Bristol Palin also has a son called Tripp who was born on 27th December 2008 when she was in a relationship with her classmate and friend, Levi Johnston.

Bristol posted a photo of her with the newborn and her husband stating:

“Welcome to the world Atlee Bay…”

Palin had also posted the following on her Facebook:

“Dakota and Tripp officially outnumbered… so excited to let you all know, ITS A GIRL!!”

Bristol Palin’s relationships and her teenage pregnancy

Bristol Palin was in a prolonged romantic relationship with her school friend and Wasilla Warriors hockey team member, Levi Johnston. She got pregnant with his child when she was only 17 years old. ‘

The child was delivered in December 2008. Bristol and Johnston were engaged for some time but in March 2009, they split. There was a brief reunion in July 2010 with a second engagement announcement but within 3 weeks the couple had again called it quits.

Bristol Palin in the meantime concentrated on her studies and did some courses and also started work. She also participated in TV shows and took to campaigns and public speaking.

Palin also wrote a memoir of her life. She joined the National Campaign to prevent teen and unplanned pregnancies. In March 2015, she announced her engagement to Dakota Meyer and planned to tie the knot in May 2015.

However, the wedding was called off. There was a patch and the couple got married in June 2016.

During that time, Bristol Palin wrote:

“Life is full of ups and downs but in the end, you’ll end up where you’re supposed to be. We are so happy to share with loved ones the wonderful news that we got married!”

Bristol Palin’s life challenges

Bristol Palin’s first pregnancy announcement came when her mother, Sarah Palin was selected as the Republican nominee for the Vice Presidential run in 2008.

Soon a media firestorm resulted which was partly sparked by the opposing party but also due to the fact that Sarah Palin had always advocated abstinence-only sex education and was against abortion.

Bristol Palin’s name was dragged into all the gossip columns. Soon, Bristol Palin separated from Levi Johnston and there were courtroom battles over child custody and support.

Johnston also posed nude for ‘Playgirl’ magazine and further contributed to the tarnishing of the image of Sarah and Bristol Palin.

Johnston also penned a memoir ‘Deer in the headlights: My life in Sarah Palin’s crosshairs’ in which he stated that he had an affair with Sarah Palin when he was dating her daughter, Bristol Palin.

After campaigning for her mother in 2008, Sarah became part of several TV shows. She also wrote her memoir on her life as a single mother. In spite of her flaws, Bristol Palin still maintained that abstinence is the best way to avoid pregnancy.

She defended her thinking by saying:

“I don’t think it’s hypocritical at all. If you get lung cancer from smoking, why wouldn’t you want to tell people, ‘Hey, look, don’t smoke.’ Why wouldn’t you want to be productive and share your story and do something positive with it?”
