Britney Spears‘s estranged dad, Jamie Spears is battling a major health issue in the hospital, reports Page Six.

A source revealed,

“Jamie has been suffering with a bad infection that has required surgery,”
“He has been hospitalized for weeks in a special infectious disease facility.”

A second source close to the family revealed that the pop star’s 71-year-old father is severely ill.

Daily Mail also reported that the news of alcoholic Jamie going to rehab over the summer is false.

The news comes after TMZ reported in August that Mr. Spears was hospitalized a few months ago to cure complications that happened from a knee replacement he had in the mid-2000s.

Sources told the publication at the time that Jamie lost more than 25 pounds and looked very weak while getting his treatment.

Since being removed as Britney’s conservator in September 2021, the singer’s parent has been living a low-key life. The Toxic singer claimed that her dad was very abusive while controlling her personal, medical, and financial decisions.

Just two months later, a LA judge terminated Spears’s 13-year conservatorship.

Since then, the father-daughter duo’s relationship has crumbled. The pop princess even told her dad to ‘‘burn in hell” in an October 2022 Instagram post.

Jamie Spears denied any wrongdoings during Britney’s conservatorship

Jamie, for his part, repeatedly denied the accusations, arguing that he saved his daughter’s life by keeping her under guardianship in February 2008 while she suffered from mental health issues.
