Popular South Korean boy band BTS recently revealed on Tuesday that their group is on an extended break. At their annual fest dinner on June 14, 2022, they announced to work on their solo projects for a while.

BTS members RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are going into an indefinite “hiatus” but why?

What really happened at the 2022 annual Festa dinner?

During their annual Festa dinner which marked their 10th anniversary as a group boys talked about their priorities.

Their live stream of dinner, where boys were partying around, joking, and recalling their journey left fans in tears. Seems like fans are not happy with the split BTS is planning

Group lead member RM, 27 in Korean had something to say about the hiatus saying,

“I always thought that BTS was different from other groups, but the problem with K-pop and the whole idol system is that they don’t give you time to mature,” he said, according to their video’s translation.

Other band members of the Bangtan Boys, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, BTS, and Jungkook were agreeing with RM saying,

“You have to keep producing music and keep doing something… I’ve changed as a human over the past 10 years, so I needed to think and have some alone time. Right now when we’re at our best I feel like I should be contributing something to the world, but I don’t know what that is.”

Is the BTS really going to lapse?

No, the BTS is not going to lapse but the hiatus is temporary. Kpop boys are on an extended hiatus but not having a permanent split.

Though the Kpop boys revealed their hiatus their agency has something else to offer. Their agency HYBE issued a statement about the Bangtan Boys being committed to solo projects instead of any sort of hiatus.
