Caitlyn Jenner announces her mother’s death
It is a difficult time for Caitlyn Jenner who recently lost her mother, Esther Jenner.
The former athlete took to Instagram to announce that her mother who was 96 years old passed away on Thursday.
Sharing an emotional Instagram post on Friday, Jenner wrote,
“I am heartbroken to announce my mom passed away yesterday morning, peacefully,”
The Olympian continued,
“Losing a mother is unique in the sense that she is the only person that loved me my entire life,”
“I will miss her tremendously. She was a few weeks shy of 97 and lived a full life. Love you mom.”
The emotional post consisted of a throwback photo of Caitlyn, her mom, and an unknown woman celebrating her late mother’s 95th birthday. The threesome grouped around numerical balloons as they smiled at the camera.
The other two snaps showed Esther smiling as she sat at the dinner table.
Fans and well-wishers shared their condolences in the comment section.
Real Housewives of New Jersey alum Siggy Flicker wrote,
“So very sorry for your loss. May your mom rest in peace .”
Erin Elmore commented,
“Sorry for your loss.”

Esther was proud of Caitlyn’s transition
Kardashians fans would know that the matriarch appeared a few times on Keeping Up With the Kardashians and I Am Cait.
She endured multiple health issues during her final years even breaking both of her hips in 2015 when she was almost 90.
Caitlyn posted an Instagram photo at the time, writing,
“Visiting my mom and she’s doing great after breaking both her hips. She’s been mobile – she’s tough,”
Esther was very supportive of Caitlyn’s transition earlier that year and said that she was proud of the former decathlete.
The proud mom explained at the time,
“I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, wonderful public speaker,”
“He instills enthusiasm in people. He’s gifted.”
She added,
“I am more proud of him now than when he stood on that podium and put the gold medal around his neck. He deserves all the respect.”
Esther’s husband William Jenner passed away in 2000. The couple had four children together: Caitlyn, Pam Mettler, Lisa Jenner, and Burt Jenner. The latter, however, was killed in a 1976 car accident.
