Who is CeCe Moore?

CeCe Moore is renowned as an American genetic genealogist. Also, she has appeared as a guest on many TV shows as a consultant such as The Today Show, 60 Minutes, 20/20, The Doctors, and so on.

She is best known for her works as the DNA expert on the PBS television series called Finding Your Roots along with Henry Louis Gates Jr. Lately, she began appearing in a prime-time ABC television series titled The Genetic Detective.

How old is CeCe Moore?

CeCe was born on January 15, 1969, in the United States. At present, she is 54 years old. She is the daughter of Michael Moore and Janis Proctor.

She grew up in Rancho Bernardo, North Country San Diego with three siblings. She has two older sisters and one Younger brother. Moore is of American nationality whereas her ethnicity is still under review.

Moving towards her academics, she attended Mt. Carmel High School. Further, she studied at the University of Southern California with a major in theatre, film, and vocal on full scholarship.

CeCe already worked in the entertainment field for almost two decades as a commercials artist before appearing as a producer and casting director. After almost in her 40’s she chooses her career in genetic genealogy which is her third career. She helped people find their immediate relatives through their DNA.

In 2005, Moore revealed the true identity of the man raised as Paul Fronczak who was kidnapped from his mother’s arms in a Chicago hospital in 1964. The team of Moore’s genetic genealogists found him in Michigan in 2019.

Similarly, her team found the true identity of amnesiac Benjaman Kyle as William Burgess Powell in 2015. That same year, she made the discovery that LL Cool J’s mother was adopted. Also, she was able to identify his biological grandparents through analysis of his DNA and introduce him to his 90-year old biological maternal grandmother.

Moore has also founded a Facebook group called DNA Detectives Facebook group for adoptees and uses their DNA to help identify the birth family. Similarly, she joined Parabon NanoLabs as head of their genetic genealogy unit in 2018.

To date, she has fully helped the police authorities to solve many high profiles cases of identification. Her first case helped to arrest William Earl Talbott II for the murder of Jay Cook and Tanya Van Cuylenborg (1987) in 2018.

Furthermore, she was able to crack a serial killer Jerry Walter in Portland, Oregon in  February 2019. He murders the 20 years old Anna Marie Hlavka in 1979. Recently, he solved the case of Santa Fe police (July 2018) to arrest Joseph Matthew Gregory in May 2020 for the shooting of Robert J. Romero.
