What allegations have been made against Chris Young?

Chris Young was taken into custody on Monday night, January 22, following an alleged altercation at a Nashville bar.

Country music star, 38, allegedly assaulted Tennessee’s Alcohol Beverage Commission agent, Joseph T Phillips, who came for routine compliance checks at a pair of Nashville bars.

The situation arose after the agents arrived at the same bar where Chris enjoying his drink at the Tin Roof. The agents checked the IDs of customers including the singer.

“When we walked into the bar, a man sitting at the bar, later found to be Mr. Young, had his ID in his hand above his head,”

They revealed that Young then started to inquire the agents about him being checked and began recording them.

Similarly, the musician and his friends followed them to another bar called the Dawg House, where things got out of control. The TABC agents said,

“While walking out the door Mr. Young put his hands out to stop me from leaving the bar and struck me on the shoulder, I then pushed Mr. Young to create distance since I had no idea of who Mr. Young was or what he had.”

Chris was immediately handcuffed on the scene. Further, the singer was reportedly drunk, his eyes were “bloodshot and watery” and his speech was “slurred.”

What are Chris Young’s charges?

Chris was arrested on three misdemeanor charges including disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer, and resisting arrest.

However, he has since been released from jail on bonds. He pays $250 for the disorderly conduct charge, $1,000 for the resisting arrest charge, and $1,250 for the assault charge.

Similarly, he is scheduled to appear in court on February 16.
