Newly engaged couple in town! Cole Swindell and his girlfriend Courtney Little took the next step in the relationship.

The Country singer, 39, exclusively confirmed to PEOPLE that he is engaged to his girlfriend after almost two years of dating.

He told the outlet,

“It’s hard to put into words how happy I am. I feel like I’m very fortunate to be where I am in my career, but I feel like I’ve missed out on a lot of real-life moments. I’m just glad to have somebody to share everything with. She makes me better, and I’m the happiest I’ve ever been in all parts of my life.”

Swindell popped the question to Little on Sunday, May 7, on a farm north of Nashville, Tennessee, the same place where they went on their first date.

Actually, the singer earlier decided to propose in Dallas during festivities leading up to the 58th ACM Awards, however, he later change the proposal location.

A sneak peek into the engagement ring

The “She Had Me at Heads Carolina” singer gave a custom-made oval diamond ring to Little.

He designed the ring with the help of Simon Tekin at Ballantyne Jewelers near the soon-to-be bride’s home, in Charlotte, North Carolina.

A representative of Ballantyne Jewelers even flew from North Carolina to hand-deliver the ring because Swindell was worried about the all-important diamond getting lost in transport.

The singer went on to acknowledge that he battled intensive traffic of Nashville’s third Taylor Swift show while he went to pick up the ring. He explained,

“It looked like she was playing acoustic pop-up shows outside of restaurants or something.”There were lines all over the place. And I was like, ‘This is not what I envisioned coming.’ I was trying to get down there early to get it before all that, but I did not miss any of it.”

The soon-to-be-married couple shared photos from the proposal on Instagram

The newly engaged couple shared their engagement news on Instagram as well. Swindell shared a series of photos from the proposal including a sweet photo of the two sharing a passionate kiss.

Similarly, he simply captioned the post,

“Still couldn’t tell ya everything I said down on one knee… All I know is she said “YES”! We’re so excited!”

Little, for her part, shared similar photos from the proposal on her respective Instagram handle and captioned them,

“Woke up as future Mrs. Swindell I’ve never been so happy! I can’t believe we are ENGAGED!!!!!”
