Comedian Artie Lange arrested in New Jersey for violation of drug court probation!

Essex County police arrested American comedian Artie Lange on Tuesday 21 May 2019 in the morning. They put him in handcuffs at a Clinton, New Jersey halfway house, USA Today reports. They then transported him to the Essex County Correctional Facility situated in Newark.
The police issued a warrant to arrest the comedian on Monday 20 May 2019. The court has not given him any date for the hearing.
The statement from Essex County Prosecutor’s Office
A spokesperson from Essex County Prosecutor’s Office told Page Six:
“Artie Lange has been taken into custody for not being in compliance with the terms and conditions of the drug court program,”
They did not elaborate further on the type of alleged violation.
Another law enforcement official said:
“Artie was coherent and cooperative at the time of his arrest. “
Artie Lange and his arrest in January
The comic star Artie has been into drug addiction for many years now. Since 2017, he has been working with the New Jersey drug court system. At that time the police had arrested him for possession of heroin, cocaine, and such prohibited items.
Last year, he received four years of probation for having heroin on him.
In January 2019, Artie again fell into trouble with the law. He tested positive for cocaine. A few days before his recent arrest, a fan had seen Artie pumping gas at a New Jersey gas station as part of probation. In a tweeted video, Artie said that he has 10 more days of work.

Artie Lange and his personal life
Artie is 51 years of age now. He has diabetes mellitus which the doctors diagnosed in him in the early 2010s. He is taking daily insulin injections to keep it under control.
Artie was dating Dana Cironi from 2002 to 2006. He met Adrienne Ockrymiekin at a tanning salon in 2009. The couple dated and also got engaged to each other. But for some reason, the engagement was called off in 2014 and they parted ways.
Artie lives in a penthouse in Hoboken in New Jersey. He purchased another mansion in 2008 for $ 2.5 million. It was a 7000-square feet summer home located in Toms River, New Jersey. In 2010, he enlisted it for sale and it was, sold in 2016.

Artie used to make a lot of gay slurs. But over time, he changed. He became more conscious of what he talked about while doing comedy. He said:
“We live in a more enlightened generation now. If someone came to me and told me something I said caused some kid to commit suicide, I’d be in a nuthouse for the rest of my life.”
The comic artist added:
“I would never gay slurs in my comedy today. “
