Nathan Chasing Horse has been arrested for sexual crimes

Former “Dances With Wolves” actor Nathan Chasing Horse, was detained on 31st January 2023, after Las Vegas police raided his home in connection with sexual assault allegations dating back two decades, according to the Associated Press.

According to police records obtained by the Associated Press, Nathan who is now supposedly the leader of a cult known as The Circle, is accused of sexually assaulting young Indigenous girls.

The actor was apprehended Tuesday afternoon near his North Las Vegas home, where he allegedly lives with his five wives. His arrest came after months of investigation spurred by an October tip to police.

SWAT police were seen outside his house later in the evening while detectives searched the property.

Police received a tip in October 2022 about Chasing

His arrest is the result of a months-long investigation that began in October 2022 after police received a tip. Nathan Chasing Horse is considered to be the leader of a cult known as The Circle, according to a 50-page search warrant acquired by AP.

According to the paper, Las Vegas police have identified at least six alleged victims and discovered sexual allegations against Chasing Horse dating back to the early 2000s in several states, including Montana, South Dakota, and Nevada, where he has lived for about a decade.

What crimes did Nathan Chasing Horse commit?

According to the warrant, Nathan Chasing Horse was expelled from the Fort Peck Reservation in Poplar, Montana, in 2018, following charges of human trafficking.

Furthermore, the police discovered sexual claims against the actor dating back to the early 2000s in a number of jurisdictions, including Montana, South Dakota, and Nevada, where he has lived for nearly ten years.

“Nathan Chasing Horse used spiritual traditions and their belief system as a tool to sexually assault young girls on numerous occasions,”  it states. Moreover, he also led his followers to believe he could speak with higher entities and referred to him as “Medicine Man” or “Holy Person.”

Although the warrant contains specifics of offenses recorded elsewhere, the arrest is related to crimes allegedly committed in Clark County, Nevada.

According to the warrant, some of the accused victims were as young as 13 years old. One of Chasing Horse’s brides was supposedly given to him as a “present” when she was 15, while another married when she was 16.

Chasing is also accused of filming sexual assaults and arranging sex with victims for individuals who reportedly paid him.

During his acting career, he was most recognized for his performance as the adolescent Sioux tribe member Smiles a Lot in Kevin Costner’s Oscar-winning 1990 picture Dances With Wolves.
