Daniel Nava was born as Daniel James Nava on 22nd February 1983 in Redwood City, California. He is the son of Don Nava and Becky Nava. His father is a fitness instructor and coach.
Nava played baseball at St. Francis High School in Mountain View, California. He received his Psychology degree from Santa Clara University.
After that, he attended the College of San Mateo.
Daniel Nava- Professional career
After playing college baseball, he went undrafted and signed with the Chico Outlaws of the Golden Baseball League. In the year 2007, he hit 12 home runs for the Outlaws. His batting average was .371. Similarly, he was named the number one independent league prospect by Baseball America in 2007.
On 12th June 2010, he made his Major League debut with the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park as the starting left fielder against the Philadelphia Phillies. However, he was sent back to Triple-A Pawtucket on July 22nd July 2010 to make room for Hermida.
In 2011, he was designated for assignment and was removed from the Red Sox’ 40-man roster. Likewise, on 6th February 2018, he signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates.
On 2nd June 2019, Daniel was signed with the Kansas City T-Bones of the independent American Association.
