Demitra ‘Mimi’ Roche was young, highly talented, and of a pleasing personality. She had many more years of productive life to live. But God had other intentions.

She died at the early age of 34 years. The death was sudden and her fans and people were shocked to learn about it.

Demitra worked at Valholla Entertainment. Vince Valholla, Chairman and CEO of Valholla Entertainment tweeted:

“I’m at a loss for words. Don’t know what to say. Mimi was kind to everyone she came across. She was big dreamer & was a part of our Valholla family,”

He added:

“I’m heartbroken by the news of her passing. I’m thankful I got to know & work w/  her. My thoughts are with her family & loved ones.”

Vince followed the first tweet with another one which read:

“There’s probably not one person who would have something negative to say about her. We lost a beautiful soul.”

Her cause of death is not clear.

Demitra and her career

Demitra was an actress and starred in the eighth season of the Oxygen reality television series Bad Girls Club. This was in the year 2012. She got the nickname Miami Maverick.

The show was about 7 girls and their confrontations as they reside in a luxury mansion. Additionally, she has also working as vice president of A&R (Artists and Repertoire) at Valholla Entertainment since 2011. At that time, on its website, Vince had praised Demitra.

Before this role, she worked as executive assistant of Marketing and A&R for successful releases in 2010 and also acted as Creative Director on the company’s multiple projects. Vince called her Mimi the dreamer. He wrote:

Demitra’s previous jobs

Before joining Valholla Entertainment, Demitra was with Dream Big Hustle Hard management firm representing Marion Winans in the capacity of A&R and Social Media Intern. She served the South Florida-based imprint Fly or Die Music of rapper Phatz Mcfly. It deals with the development of artists and creative directive duties.

In October 2009, Demitra launched her blog project Memoirs of A Jaded Dreamer. She unveiled innovative artists’ material and used it to also cover current news of mainstream hip-hop.

She was also with internet radio station Coast 2 Coast ‘Smoke Session Radio’ along with Poe Boy affiliate DJ Smokey Bear and Iconz Music DJ Heroin.

The popular website 24HourHipHop.com hired her in late 2010 as a full-time contributor. She was a socialite in the Miami hip-hop community. And she used to host several events in South Florida.
