Denise Dowse, a 64 years old actress is no longer with us.

On Sunday, August 14, Dowse’s sister Tracey Dowse confirmed the tragic news in an emotional statement on her Instagram account. She penned,

“It is with a very heavy heart that I inform everyone that my sister, Denise Dowse has gone forward to meet our family in eternal life. Denise Yvonne Dowse was the most amazing sister, a consummate, illustrious actress, mentor and director. She was my very best friend and final family member.”

While talking to CNN, Tracey reminisced about her and feel proud to have been her sister. She told CNN,

“She lit up the stage and screen. She knew how to dance in life and see the joy. Something we can all learn from.”

Similarly, Denise’s manager Sandra Siegal told CNN,

” I am heartbroken at the loss of our brilliantly talented, beautiful, elegant, eloquent and loving Denise, who’ve I’ve had the joy and blessing of managing and collaborating on her career for over 25 years, as well as a personal friendship. I am at a loss, but have gained so much from knowing her. Denise’s legacy and memory will live on forever for she has truly touched so many,”

Health Condition

Denise had been battling from disease. She was diagnosed with a virulent form of meningitis. She also recently fell into a coma.

On August 5, her sister Tracey shared news of her health condition through her Facebook page. Tracey wrote,

“I am trying to keep my spirits up and support those who need it. As many of you know I am a private person. So this is hard for me. I am requesting support and prayers be offered me and my sister, and my only immediate family Denise Dowse,”

She continued,

“Her doctors do not know when she will come out of the coma as it was not medically induced. She is a vibrant actor and director that should have many years ahead of her. Thoughts, prayers and support are greatly appreciated.”
