Daytona Beach police found actor Drake Bell safe after he was reported missing overnight. Bell was reportedly last seen driving his 2022 gray BMW near Mainland High School before 9 p.m. The police later confirmed Bell was safe and in contact with them.

“At this time we can confirm law enforcement officials are in contact and Mr. Bell is safe.”

The actor joked on Twitter about his disappearance and said,

“You leave your phone in the car and don’t answer for the night and this?”

He allegedly made ‘suicidal statements’ before disappearing

TMZ reports that Drake Bell was reportedly saying that he did not want to live anymore due to concerns about child custody before he briefly disappeared.

His brother Robert called the Orlando Police Department and claimed that he was making suicidal statements before his disappearance.

According to TMZ, he was visiting his ex-wife Janet Von Schmeling in Winter Park, Florida, to discuss the custody of their son Jeremy when he made the worrying comments.

His brother called the police when he felt that Drake was not responding to his calls and texts to reach out.

Drake Bell pleaded guilty to sexual assault and attempted endangering of children in 2021

In Ohio on June 4, 2021, authorities arrested Drake Bell for endangering children and spreading harmful material to minors.

He allegedly violated his duty of care towards a 15-year-old victim whom he had a physical relationship with, during a concert in December 2017.

The Cleveland Police found that he had sent inappropriate social media messages to the minor for months leading up to the concert. He pleaded not guilty and was released on a $2,500 personal bond, and agreed to provide a DNA sample.

They also ordered him not to contact the alleged victim, scheduling a trial for June 23. On the trial, the actor pleaded guilty to both charges.

On July 12, 2021, the accuser publicly accused him of sexually assaulting her while she was a minor, in addition to the endangerment charges.

The court imposed two years of probation and 200 hours of community service on him. Several months after the scandal, he posted on his Tiktok and claimed that he had no knowledge of the girl’s age, and upon learning the truth, he cut ties with her.
