Duane loves all his children equally. He spoke to PEOPLE NOW and revealed how his family members are grieving differently over the death of their mother. He fears that some may not be able to make it.

Duane, 66 was, on the verge of crying as he disclosed how his family is trying to context terms with the death of Beth. They are finding it difficult to do so. Duane said:

“Each one copes differently, there is a few that really barely making it.

“We don’t know what to do. We haven’t read, we weren’t prepared. I lost my mother first, and when my mom passed away, I’m like, ‘I wish dad would have died first, you know, ’cause I love my mommy.’ So I went to them and said, ‘I’m so sorry that I didn’t die first and mom did.’”

He continued:

“And they were like, ‘Yeah dad, why?’

“So I was like, ‘Oh my god, I know what that feels like, I should’ve been the one. The guy goes first.’”

Duane feels that he is the soft one and cannot be at or punish his children if they do wrong. When Beth was, alive, he used to frighten and threaten them that Beth would get them if they did not do something right. But now with Beth’s absence in this world, he is unable to put things across in the right way to his children. Duane recalled:

“And I guess I’m the softy of the group because I never wanted to punish. I said, ‘Your mom is gonna get you if you don’t do that.’

“So now I gotta be the one that does that, and I don’t like that and they don’t either.”

Duane Dog the Bounty Hunter has to do everything after Beth’s death

Though his kids help him, Duane has to do most of the work at home now. Everything falls on his shoulders. Duane and Beth had two children together. They are Bonnie Chapman, 20, and Garry Chapman, 18.

Beth had another son named Dominic Davis when she was 17 with her high school sweetheart whose name is not known. The state had taken him away and Duane had helped her track him down. He is now 34. She also had a daughter Cecily Chapman, 26 whom Duane had adopted later on.
