Earl Clark started playing basketball professionally after being selected by Phoenix Suns in the 2009 NBA draft. On 18 December 2010, he was traded to Orlando Magic along with Jason Richardson and Hedo Turkoglu in exchange for Vince Carter, Marcin Gortat, and Mickael Pietrus with $3 million cash.

In August 2011, he signed a one-year contract with Zhejiang Lions in China during the NBA lockout. On 16 April 2012, he recorded his first double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds.

Earl Clark was traded to Los Angeles Lakers in Aug 2012, where he was named a permanent starter even after Gasol returned. On 12 July 2013, he signed with the Cleveland Cavaliers but was soon traded to the Philadelphia 76ers on 20 February 2014. He was released from the 76ers the next day and he signed a 10-day contract with New York Knicks.

On 25 September 2014, Clark signed Memphis Grizzlies but soon he was released from the team and joined Houston Rockets. After three days he was released from the Rockets and on 31 October he signed with Lowa Energy of the NBA Developmental League but he was traded to Rio Grande Valley Vipers the very next day.

On 10 December 2014, he signed with Shandong Golden Stars of the Chinese Basketball Association. On 27 March 2015, he signed a 10 days contract with the Brooklyn Nets but he was released from the team on 10 August 2015. He was acquired by Bakersfield Jam of the NBA Development League on 30 October 2015 but he was traded to the Delaware 76ers.

On 19 March 2016, Earl Clark was released from the team and joined Henan Shedian Laojiu of the Chinese Basketball league on 24 May 2016. On 18 August 2016, Clark signed with the Turkish club Besiktas and since then he has been playing for the team.
