Ed Sheeran reveals his wife Cherry Seaborn has a tumor
Ed Sheeran shocked fans when he revealed that his wife, Cherry Osbourne was diagnosed with a tumor. They found out the unfortunate news while she was pregnant with her second child last year.
In a press release on Tuesday, the Shape of You singer revealed that his beloved wife had “no route to treatment until after the birth,” while pregnant with baby No. 2 in 2022.
The multiple-time Grammy winner who welcomed his second child in May last year did not reveal further details about Cherry’s health condition.
However, the Happier hitmaker, 32, did write candidly about Seaborn’s tumor and other tragedies of his life in his upcoming album, Subtract.
The British singer explained,
“A series of events changed my life, my mental health, and ultimately the way I viewed music and art … within the space of a month.”
”My best friend Jamal, a brother to me, died suddenly, and I found myself standing in court defending my integrity and career as a songwriter,”
The Galway Gal hitmaker also said that he was “spiraling through fear, depression, and anxiety” at the time. He felt like he was “drowning” with his head “below the surface.”
Sheeran wrote about his tragedies in his new album
Working on his new album was a form of therapy and helped him make sense of his real feelings.
Sheeran wrote,
“I wrote without thought of what the songs would be, I just wrote whatever tumbled out. And in just over a week, I replaced a decade’s worth of work with my deepest darkest thoughts,”
The Perfect singer’s touching statement comes just a month after he opened up about the turbulent things in his personal life on Instagram.
In February, he wrote,
“I realize I haven’t been that engaged in my social media or my fan base online over the last couple of year,”
“Weird s–t is going to start being posted [now].”
Despite being the wife of one of the world’s most famous singers, Cherry has managed to live her life very privately.
The duo married in January 2019 and became parents in September of the following year when Seaborn gave birth to their first child, Antarctica, now 2.
The couple, however, has not mentioned their second child’s name in public.
