Back Again with her prank! Ellen DeGeneres does scare the hell out of her old prank mate Matt Lauer and it seems to be the best one so far.

The history of doing pranks with this duo goes way back and now Ellen has after a pause revived the epic prank again let’s see what happened!

Ellen Prank on Matt

The old prank buddies reunited on the Ellen Degeneres Show and it was fun to watch, we must say. Just when we thought Ellen was finished with the simple silly pranks, she goes on to prove us wrong.

The epic prank war between Ellen DeGeneres and Matt Lauer is not over as yet, though apparently, Matt Lauer thought it was.

This made him an easy target when he stopped by Ellen on Thursday. Ellen DeGeneres first lured Lauer into a boring conversation about music and then frightened him.

The Today Show co-host, 61, came as a guest on The Ellen DeGeneres Show for the episode airing Thursday, May 4. During the sit-down, the pair discussed and talked about their recent milestones — Lauer’s 20 years on the Today show and the 20th anniversary of DeGeneres’ coming out on the sitcom Ellen.

They also revealed that they’re both turning 60 soon.

Finally, the conversation switched gears to Lauer and his co-host Savannah Guthrie’s differing tastes in music.

“Savannah has much more of — I don’t want to say hippie mentality — but it’s all melancholy acoustic guitar jam, and the lyrics are all about, ‘someone broke my heart.’ So we go in in the morning, when we get into the studio, we often grab our phones. We have a playlist and she’ll play a song, and everybody will die. Then I’ll play a song, and we get up dancing.”

A Guthrie impersonator in a floral shift dress suddenly jumped out of a side table and screamed right at the NBC star before sprinting off-screen. Lauer got scared and shrieked and jumped out of his chair. He yelled:

“Oh god!”

He said:

“It’s so petty. It’s so childish. You promised. Now I wet my suit. It’s the only suit I have, and I’m wearing your underwear in this suit. What is the deal with you?”

DeGeneres uttered:

“That was one of my favorites. That was my favorite so far.”

History of Pranks

Lauer and DeGeneres have a long-drawn history of pranking each other. DeGeneres has made high-tech digital modifications to several of Matt Lauer’s interviews and appearances.

She had him shirtless interviewing the 50 Shades of Grey stars and also walking the Met Gala red carpet in his underwear.

To retaliate, Matt once filled DeGeneres’s SUV with ping pong balls, and another time he bought a few billboards that had advertisements of DeGeneres as a plumber, complete with plumber’s crack.

DeGeneres had superimposed Matt’s head onto another man’s body in various forms of undress and usually doing something odd.

Ellen is known for pranking her high-profile guests, such as Ben Affleck, Selena Gomez, Justin Bieber, Kellie Pickler, Simone Biles, Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, and Lea Michele.
