Errol Musk has something to say about his estranged son Elon Musk and his ex-partner Grimes‘ bitter custody battle over their three little kids. It started with who would look after X whom the billionaire calls his “protege.”

The Tesla founder and the Canadian musician whose real name is Claire Boucher filed dueling lawsuits in Texas and California. It created the scene for a messy legal fight over their kids, son X, 3, daughter Exa, and son Techno, both 1.

Over Friday, it was announced that the kids would not be allowed to leave California where the musician lives.

In recent times, Musk took X in front of world leaders, telling Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, “We are separated and I take care of him mostly,” when the leader asked where the baby’s mom was.

Elon’s estranged father, 77, spoke from his home in South Africa this week. He gave his thoughts on the custody proceedings. He said,

“X is not going to grow up too well without the input from his mother.”

Errol also stated that his daughters, Elon’s sisters like Grimes very much.

He said,

“Elon’s trying very hard with all his children,”
“He may have his reasons, but if he’s keeping X from his mother, that’s not good at all.”
“When Elon was small, his mother [Maye Musk] did all the hard work and I should have appreciated it more.”

Errol won custody of his kids after the divorce

The former engineering consultant had the custody of his sons, Elon and Kimble, as well as his daughter Tosca, after divorcing their mom, Maye Musk. He would often take his sons to meetings.

However, the father of six insisted,

“A woman is a very essential part of a home, a woman is the center of the home. The mother is the sun and the rest of the family are the planets. If a father went away for a few weeks, it would make no difference, but a woman is essential.”
“A father and two sons living together is not really a family, it’s just three men; a mother and two sons is a family.”

Grimes and Elon welcomed their 3-year-old son, X – full name X Æ A-12, and pronounced Z-E-X, to rhyme with sex. Their daughter Exa Dark Sideræl and son Tau were born by surrogate.

Tau’s full name Techno Mechanicus was revealed only in September.

In a cover story for Vanity Fair in March 2022, Grimes talked about X, saying,

“I think E is really seeing him as a protégé and bringing him to everything and stuff.…”

Musk secretly filed his lawsuit in Texas demanding the custody of their three kids on September 17. Then took X to New York where he met Erdogan at the United Nations on September 18.

On September 26, he carried his son on his shoulders as he gave Hungarian President Katalin Novak a tour of his Austin Tesla factory.
