Gabriel Guevara Arrested Over Sexual Assault Charges

Gabriel Guevara was arrested during the Venice Film Festival on Saturday, September 2. According to The Hollywood Reporter, an active international warrant was issued on him for an alleged sexual assault in France.

He was taken into custody just a day before he was set to receive a Best Young Actor honor given out by Filming Italy.

Similarly, Filming Italy canceled the award as a “precautionary measure” until the case against him was resolved. Following his arrest, the festival issued a statement that reads,

“Following the news articles which have been emerging on various websites, regarding the Spanish actor Gabriel Guevara being arrested in Venice, the Biennale hereby clarifies that his presence in Venice was not linked to any events or productions related to the 80th Venice International Film Festival.”

The specific charges against him are under wrap as of now.

However, he was released the same day. The case hearing was set for Monday, September 4. Prime Video has also acknowledged that they are undertaking their own independent investigation into the matter.

Gabriel Guevara recently made his breakthrough from the 2023 Prime Video romance film, My Fault where he portrayed the role of Nick Leister.
