The gay couple took a milestone in their relationship as Underwood wed his fiance in an extravagant three-day affair. The wedding festivities kicked off with a family dinner and welcome party on Friday, May 12, at the Carneros Resort and Spa.

Their wedding was planned by Ashley SmithEvents. The 31-years former NFL player gave a sneak peek of their wedding to PEOPLE ahead of the wedding day, revealing,

“The day of our ceremony, we have a disco-themed pool party. “It’s going to be a fun wedding, I’ll say that!”

He continued,

“We wanted trees around and sunshine. It was really important for us to get married outside.”

They walked down the aisle in front of 200 guests as they made their way to the ceremony where a choir and orchestra performed. Similarly, they were greeted by a beautiful photo display designed by the couple.

The reality star, 31, explained,

“One thing that’s really important to both of us is that we’ve created this, we’re calling it ‘our loving walk,”
“It’s inspired from a coffee table book that I was gifted after I came out called Loving and it’s images of men in love throughout history. We blew them up and put them on canvases and set them around the resort. Next to them will be love letters from queer people in the 18th and 19th century that were forbidden or they had to send in secret.”

Adding to that Brown said,

“It’s really cool. It helps us to pay tribute to the people who paved the way for all same-sex couples who now can get married.”

The couple, who have been dating for almost two years, exchanged personal vows and rings during the ceremony. Underwood revealed,

“We wanted to break some of the traditional norms of what a ceremony and a wedding look like. And for the entire weekend, we recognize that a lot of people attending, both of our families and some of our friends, this will be their first queer wedding. We really want to make it special.”

Moreover, they surprised guests with Stanford University’s artistic swimming team performing in the pool as everyone exited the ceremony. Brown explained,

“We wanted to keep the energy going. “I like to host and bring people together. It’s our wedding, but it’s also a three-day party that we are throwing for our nearest and dearest.”

Similarly, the newlywed had their first dance to “The Good Ones” by Gabby Barrett. Underwood said,

“We love it, It’s just one of those songs that both remind us of each other and special to us.”

Wedding attires

The newlywed wore somehow similar outfits for their big day from Tom Ford suits. Underwood opted for a deep green color whereas the political strategist’s husband, 40, chose blue.

Colton and Jordan first met at a party in Los Angeles in April 2021. The two sparked dating rumors in September 2021 after they were spotted packing on the PDA at the Four Seasons resort in Maui, Hawaii.

In February 2022, they got engaged in Big Sur, California. The former Bachelor star reflects on their relationship at the time, saying,

“It was very natural and organic, how it progressed,”

Brown added,

“We both just had a gut feeling.”

The two also shared two dogs named Scout and Zooka.
