Colton Underwood was signed as an undrafted free agent by the San Diego Chargers on May 10, 2014, but he was waived on August 30, 2014. On September 4 of the same year, he was signed to the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad but after 6 days, he was released from the squad.

He returned to Chargers on September 23, 2014, and later he was signed to the Raiders practice squad on December 1, 2015, but he was released from there on August 29, 2016.

Then, he participated in the 14th season of ‘The Bachelorette but was eliminated after eight weeks. Then, he was cast in season five of ‘Bachelor in Paradise. He along with Tia Booth left the series after they were linked.

Colton Underwood is also active in social activities. He has founded the Colton Underwood Foundation in January 2016 in order to raise money for cystic fibrosis research and medical equipment. His cousin Harper was also diagnosed with the disease when she was four.

The foundation began the Legacy project in January 2018, in order to deliver Afflovests to children.

Besides, Colton Underwood has penned a book titled, The First Time.
